We’re thrilled to announce the successful launch of our first meeting aimed at fostering green transitions within small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Kumanovo! On January 25, 2024, stakeholders gathered to kickstart this vital initiative, addressing the pressing issue of air pollution in our community and the pivotal role of SMEs in combatting it. On the meeting we discussed about the problem that we are facing, and that is the polluted air in Kumanovo and the role of the SMEs in solving the common problem. The activities, objectives and the expected results from the project were presented in front of the participants. By the end of the project, the participating SMEs can expect to:
o acquire valuable knowledge for implementing sustainable business practices;
o explore funding opportunities and accessto grants for green transition on enterprises;
o initiate and implement first green projects;
o benefit from mentoring sessions for green transition led by experts from the country and abroad .

The initiative “Green transition of small and medium-sized enterprises in Kumanovo” is supported through the project “Tackling air pollution” which is part of the UNDP Program Framework, financed by Sweden. The project “Tackling air pollution” is implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning and the municipalities of Kavadarci, Kumanovo, Gostivar, Struga and Strumica.
Within the framework of the program, the project “Building the municipal capacities for the implementation of projects” is also implemented.
